I had devoted all my professional career to telecom and billing related solutions when Zuora popped up on the Nordic market and looked for people with my profile. I had already since 10 years back in time explored the possibilities to leverage many years of experience from telecom billing, where subscriptions were the mode of business, and develop solutions for subscription business outside the traditional telecom/utility sector . With internet, media houses were looking for ways, and experimented with possibilities, to monetize on their content. However, it was too early and none dared to loose the reach by locking down the content behind a pay-wall. With Zuora, and its vision of a subscription economy and also the current move to alternative business models for the traditional industry, time has finally come when the technology and models developed for telecom subscription business are spreading to other industries. 

I have at Zuora spent more than 4 years delivering Zuora solutions to Nordic customers within wide range of industry verticals leveraging 20 years of experience in telecom billing and subscription business model to make them successful in subscription business. Now I'm looking forward to do it as Mangotree AB.

I worked as solution slash enterprise architect within telecom for well over 15 years when I got a call from Zuora recruiter looking for a senior solution architect to start up their Nordic Center of Excellence. It was June 2015. The world was already shifting towards subscription economy with digital transformation of media well underway, and manufacturing and retail picking up. Immediately I realized a huge potential in the market for this cloud based, highly configurable subscription billing software that I’d never heard of before. I understood that as these new subscription businesses start to emerge, they’d need similar IT solutions to support their growing business as telco’s have had for decades, but without the luxury of time, the benefit of experience in subscription management and a huge IT machinery to keep up with constantly changing requirements! Zuora seemed to have the answer to address these needs, so I joined the company in September 2015.

I had spent the next four years delivering Zuora solutions to numerous customers in and around Nordics and building Zuora regional Services practice. Meanwhile, Zuora had become the market leader with more then 1200 employees worldwide and Tien's vision of the "World Subscribed" had became everyday life. But I also realized that for a US company with global footprint that Zuora is, specific requirements of smaller markets such as the Nordics will not be a priority.

So in January 2020, Lars and I established Mangotree AB as Zuora delivery partner to offer Zuora implementation services with focus on local requirements. We bring together our unique experience of implementing Zuora in the region with our deep understanding of the business intricacies of the local Nordic markets and two decades of experience in subscription business to help You succeed in subscription economy.
